Here are some of the best new features for education on the iPhone4
- Better graphics resolution means better learning. 960-by-640 resolution, 326 ppi. iPhone 4 Retina display uses technology called IPS (in-plane switching) — the same technology used in the Apple LED Cinema Display and iPad — to achieve a wider viewing angle than on typical LCDs. Which means you can hold iPhone 4 almost any way you want and still get a brilliant picture.
- Video Calling face time The two cameras means that the person holding the camera could be showing something while you see them explain it. It seems like a great way to teach in the field. This new forward facing camera will be great for teachers to connect to student VIA social media sites like Youtube and Facebook.
- Connects to a keyboard - This makes using the iphone to write and take notes more feasible.
- Multitasking - Now you can have many programs running, this will allow you to go jot down notes or email a teacher a question while reading or watching a video.
- iBooks – The biggest feature on the iPhone 4 for education has to be ibooks. Having access to thousands of books allows you to read on the go. Not everyone will buy an iPad.
- 4G – Now M-learning will be crazy fast
- HD Camera – Look out flip camera, your are now redundant. For about the same price as a Flip camera you can now purchase the iPhone 4 with HD video and iMovie app editing. I’m sure that thousands of educators will now start using the iPhone for their video cameras.
I’m sure I missed a few but these are the featured that caught my eye.
